Synposis
Hung Hing Family boss Lee Qun was ambushed on his way to Macau. His heir Lee Mun-ho (Chow Yun Fat) flew back from the States for the funeral. Mun-ho, who did not want to mingle with the mobsters, planned to return to the States for good after wrapping up his father’s business in Hong Kong. However, he successfully turned Hung Hing into a well organized business. Meanwhile, Yeung Kong (Ray Cheung), a young and ambitious mobster who was brought up under the old Triad tradition, strongly opposed Mun-ho. Other mobster families also allied up to squeeze the Hung Hing Family out…
黑社會洪興社老大被殺，其子李萬豪（周潤發 飾）回港為父奔喪。豪回港後被眾長輩推舉為接班人，豪表明立場推卻，地盤卻遭人破壞。豪大膽應對，成功平息風波，眾人對他充滿信心，豪一再強調不會加入黑社會。洪興少壯派頭目楊港（張耀揚 飾）不滿豪放過敵人，更與另一頭目謝勝（陳惠敏 飾）打架。勝後被別人暗殺，其好朋友傻強誤會港是兇手。其他黑社會亦想藉機剷除洪興，弄至滿城風雨，豪最後更找到殺父仇人……
