Synopsis:

Washed-out writer Murao Kikuji (Toyokawa Etsushi) penned many popular novels in the past, but it has been a while since he's written anything new. Separated from his wife, he passes his time editing for a magazine and lecturing at a university. When Kikuji meets housewife Fuyuka (Terajima Shinobu), the two linely souls instantly connect, forming an illicit bond of love and passion. Then one summer morning, Kikuji stangles Fuyuka to death - because she asked him to. The film starts with his capture for the murder and throughout his court trial we see moments from their love affair through scattered flashbacks.
